Over the years, Sam-Son Farm has retired many of our racehorses to our Milton farm, retrained some as hunters or jumpers, and others as track ponies. Our retiree paddocks have been graced with the likes of talented horses such as: Desert Waves, Classic Reign, Tot of Rum, Stutz Bearcat, Blue Finn, Victorious Emperor, Wilderness Song, Quiet Resolve, Queen of Egypt and Dance Smartly. Currently we are home to living legends Soaring Free, Up With the Birds, Arabis, Brave Destiny, Catch the Ring, Dancethruthedawn, Fleet of Foot, Rainbow’s Classic, Water Music, Portcullis and Silver Ticket. Our retirees live in our biggest fields and spend most of their time playing halter-tag and using feed tubs as chew toys.

Longrun thoroughbred retirement society

Sam-Son Farm is a proud supporter of LongRun, who’s mission is to help retired thoroughbred racehorses through fundraising, volunteer work, and assistance from the Ontario thoroughbred industry to find loving, adoptive homes and alternative careers, ensuring them the dignified and happy retirement they so richly deserve.
